SSL Configuration in IIS 5.1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to implement SSL in  IIS 5.1 . I have done the following steps.. Created a private certificate using the  tool http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/keyman/download?  and installed that certificate in IIS. and configure IIS to work with web site. i have also set IE configuration to work with SSL

As a developer i need to know  whether i can locally create an SSL enabled site for my local project in asp.net.

When i tried to browse the page using https://mysitelocal.. it is not displaying the page , it shows the error like this

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

    • Internet connectivity has been lost.
    • The website is temporarily unavailable.
    • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
    • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
    • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
