The new screen folders is a nice feature added to LS RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • The new feature added in the March 2014 update that allows you to group together similar screens in their own screen folder (underneath the main Screen folder) is very nice. This little addition, asked for by the community since day one, seems to have slipped in under the radar. I would have expected more fanfare about this feature!

However, there are some issues to be aware of if you try to a) rename one of those screen folders or b) move a screen from one screen folder to another. Neither of these options really work at present so be very careful as you can mess up your entire project.

So for the moment, until this issue is fixed, make sure you select you screen folder names and location of screens very carefully before creating the screens.

Also noticed that if you have the project under source control with TFS and you delete a screen *.lsml and accompanying *.js file under a screen sub-folder and you check the project into TFS, it will not actually commit those file deletions into TFS either. You have to manually go to the TFS source Control Explorer and commit those deletions.
