Windows 8 already has an A/V application installed. Windows Defender and
Microsoft Security Essentials have been merged and renamed to Windows
Defender for Windows 8. Type Windows Defender at the Start screen for more
    details.

  • Hi Birkam,

As of now, many antivirus applications are not yet compatible with Windows 8.  We have outreached to many to these companies and are working with them to address compatibility issues.

    Thanks
