Adding Keyboard Filter to ICE generates errror RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I recently added the keyboard filter to my answer file. I installed the filter through WEDU and then rebuilt the Index. Then I added the keyboard filter to my answer file in ICE. When I went to install the answer file to the target hardware using IBW I received the error "windows setup failed to install packages or apply component settings while offline servicing the image". I pulled up the error log and saw the below errors.

I checked my distribution share to ensure that the keyboard filter driver was in there - which it was. Am I missing a step, this was my first time using WEDU and adding a update to my answer file? Thanks in advance for your responses.

  • I think I might have realized what went wrong. I was always using the IBW SP1 ISO that MS released. In ICE I think I might need to go to tools -> create media -> create IBW from answer file or create IBW from full distribution share.

  • Keyboard filter is not released for WES7 RTM DS – distribution share.
Keyboard filter is available for WES7 SP1 DS.
The default location is C:\Program Files\Windows Embedded Standard 7\DS64SP1\Packages\FeaturePack\amd64~winemb-keyboard-filter-toplevel~~~~6.1.7601.17514~1.0

  • I should have clarified. I am using WES7 SP1 ICE and IBW. In my DS64SP1 I do see the keyboard filter driver in  C:\Program Files\Windows Embedded Standard 7\DS64SP1\Packages\FeaturePack\amd64~winemb-keyboard-filter-toplevel~~~~6.1.7601.17514~1.0
