Wcf-SAP Adapter install RRS feed

  • Question

  • As part of the Wcf-Sap Adapter install it says;

    "

    To invoke tRFCs in an SAP system you must run the SQL script, SapAdapter-DbScript-Install.sql. This script is installed as part of the BizTalk Adapter Pack installation and creates the database and the database objects in SQL Server. The script is typically installed at <installation drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Adapter Pack."

    Now,  it doesn't specify to which database this is installed on.

    Do we need ot create a Db?
    Do we need to use an SAP db?
    Is the script ran against a current BizTalk Db?

    Environment:
    Win2008
    Sql 2008
    Biztalk 2009

    All:  64bit

  • For installing this script you can use any database of your choice.
    It is generally recommended  not to use the current Biztalk Db, rather create a new Db for this.

    A typical connection string would look like-

    Server=SQLserver;Database=saptiddb;User Id=sa;Password=myPassword;Trusted_Connection=False;

  • I would agree. Creating a new Db is preferred.  Thanks for the clarification!  :)
