DataPoint.Name Property ignores set name RRS feed

  • Question

  • What's wrong here?  I set the Name property of a DataPoint but it retains the default name "DataPoint".

    using System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Charting;

    DataPoint p = new DataPoint();
    Console.WriteLine("Name="+p.Name);
    p.Name = "xyz";
    Console.WriteLine("Name="+p.Name);

    Output results:

    Name=DataPoint
    Name=DataPoint

  • Hi

    Yes, I've tested your code, the same as yours. I would suggest you use some decompile tool, for example, reflector and so on.  You can try to decompile DataPoint Name property to see the results. Since I cannot download these tool, if you find something, please post here, good luck!

    Best regards,
