Installer download link for .NET 2.0 broken RRS feed

  • Question

  • The URL used by installers that were created with Visual Studio 2005 to download .NET 2.0 has stopped working very recently: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=9832

This is particularly a problem on Windows 10 where .NET 2.0 support is not built in and .NET 3.5 needs to be downloaded and installed for any old .NET 2.0 applications to run.

Does anyone know how I should go about reporting this to Microsoft so that they can fix the URL?

  • Hi Matt,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

On Win 10, you don't need to install .Net 3.5 separately, please directly go to Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features to turn the .Net Framework 3.5 feature on, which includes .NET 2.0:
