Windows Server does not show correct disk size RRS feed

  • Question

  • We moved our server to a new machine a few weeks back. Both machines (old and new) are running Windows Biz Server 2003. New Machine is a Dell Server with 2 250 Gig Drives in a Raid array (second disk is mirror of first).
New machine bios lists 250 Gig, Raid is set up correctly (so it seems), but the C drive lists only 36 Gig of Space with 196 unallocated space. We did not create a partition, however, when we connected old server to new we imported settings (assuming those would be user settings).

Windows lists Disk 0 as Scsi disk....which is weird as it is a SATA drive...old server had SCSI  (or could this be Windows 2003 way of indicating the Raid array ? )

Question: Why is this happening ? How can I increase the space to get all 250 Gig available without loosing data.
