Out Of Browser LightSwitch App Update RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an out of browser app hosted on Azure. The application was working fine. I replublished the app after making some changes. The publish indicated success. Now, upon execution of the application, I am notified that the app was updated successfully. I re-launch the app and receive the same message. I was able to find an article, http://jandho.blogspot.com/2012/09/out-of-browser-ls-app-keeps-on-showing.html, but the proposed resolution did not work. Same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks

  • Hi Michael

Uninstall the application and install again from your published URL. It should work as expected. If its not working then may be you have some issue with your code signing certificate.

  • HI Michael,

    Welcome to Lightswitch forum.

    Here are some suggestions:

To update the LightSwitch application, you need only re-publish it to the installation point. This should be true for all application types: web applications, desktop applications published to the web/Azure, or desktop applications run on the local machine. After each successful publish the application version is incremented. For Desktop applications hosted locally, LightSwitch applications get updates for free from ClickOnce. For Desktop applications hosted on the web, LightSwitch has to use the Out-of-browser functionality built in to Silverlight. Check out msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd550721(VS.95).aspx for more info.

As Rashmi Ranjan Panigrahi mentioned above, you can also check LightSwitch Application Client Configuration and Signing.

    Best regards,

    Angie
