Programmatically Import Word ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • We want to deploy the Word 2010 ribbon to 250 users.  On our Quick Access toolbar, we have several items from a custom addin that periodically disappear, so the toolbar needs to be re-imported move often than we would like.  This is troublesome from a support perspective.  Is there a way to programmatically import the toolbar, rather than the manual steps?  Anything will be considered.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Orland

Can you give us more information about this "custom addin"?

Is it a Word template? A VSTO Add-in? A COM Add-in? Something else?

Are you able to track down the circumstances which cause the items to disappear?

Have you read the following article and tried to apply it to your working environment:

  • Tried loading the specified files in the link above to the user directory, and it worked.  I had not understood that part when I read this article before.  Thanks for the link.
