Tutorial on creating a new sheet and pivot table for each row in a table RRS feed

  • Question

  • im apologising in advance, this post seems lazy. Fact is I dont have time to figure this out from scratch so asking for help like pointing me at a relevant tutorial. My issue is:

I have a pivot table on a spreadsheet tab, that contains data from the underlying power-pivot model.
For each row in the pivot table i need to :

    -create a new sheet/tab
-add a pivot table to that whose source is the underlying datamodel
-change the value of a few filters to display the relevant info on each pivot table.

Id appreciate a pointer to a starting point tutorial for this.

    Kind Regards,

  • You'll need to use VBA to loop through the rows of the pivot table, and create new pivot tables based on the criteria contained within.

Most resources on VBA for beginners recommend recording a macro while you perform the intended action and then modifying the resultant script.

You will probably have better luck on a forum which has a larger focus on VBA than in this one.
