Cannot add picture to page RRS feed

  • Question

  • Most of the times, adding an image to a page is no issue. But once in a while, the picture appears on top of the page - above the top link bar and the logged on user.
When the editor checks in, the picture is no longer visible.

We have a custom page layout and masterpage. Any idea what could go wrong?

  • Sounds like a combined HTML/javascript problem.

Do you have any javascript on the page that might be moving it around?

Does it happen in more than one browser?  It could be a browser version issue?

I'd try looking at the HTML using IE and the developer tools (F12).  That may give you some insight.

  • You can look at the css.

Mostly Image positioning might be the issue. It might be set to absolute and you might be missing to include top:, bottom: properties.

Also, If you set any min-width to the Images, IE might throw some issues.

But again, Firebug and IE Developer tools would take you to the right path.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

Open the page in sharepoint designer and switch to split mode.

In Split mode try adjusting the position and check in the page.

Also make sure that the image is published.

I hope this will help you out.
