XAML Intellisense stopped working in VS 2013

    Question

  • I installed RC 1 for VS 2013 and now intellisense for XAML is not working. I have to Ctrl+Space in order to get any selection dropdown to display. All the option settings for XAML intellisense are disabled.

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum, but all the other Visual Studio forums are geared towards desktop development.

  • Hi Jim Young,

According to your description, I guess it may be a bug about your VS version.

Please post your issue on http://connect.microsoft.com/ as VS bug.

And I think you could get more professional response over there.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Regards!

  • Hi Jim Young,

    Welcome here!

From above, I am not sure if your RC 1 for VS 2013 is download from here(release candidate (RC) for Visual Studio 2013 Update 1):

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=41204

If so, please uninstall it and try again, if your issue persists, please feel free to let me know. If your issue is resolved, please post this thread on http://connect.microsoft.com/ as VS bug.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Regards!

  • I uninstalled RC 1 and the problem with intellisense and XAML files still persist.

The update had another problem with syntax highlighting that uninstall did fix.
