Silverlight - Accessing Microsoft MapPoint Web Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I need to access the Microsoft MapPoint Web Service (not the Bing Maps Web Service) from a Silverlight application. When I attempt to access the web service, it prompts me for my username / password. I enter my username and password and then a message box pops up that says "not found".

My question is, how do I access the MapPoint Web Service from a Silverlight application?

    Thank you!

  • You need to get a MapPoint account id. Sign up here: https://mappoint-css.live.com/MwsSignUp/Default.aspx After you sign up you will get an email invitation. Click on the link inside. You will then be able to log into the customer service site (https://mappoint-css.live.com/cscv3/ ). The first time you log in you will be asked to create a password. You will use this password to access the MapPoint. You can then go into account info and get your account number (4-6 digit number), this is your username for accessing MapPoint. If you are a commercial user and want to associate this account with your licenses, contact the account team at mpnet@microsoft.com
