Digital Signature validation in Office 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Micorosoft SignatureLine provider for digitaly signing an Office 2007 document. My certificate is valid when the digital signature operation is performed.

When I try to validate the signature after the certificate is expired, I'm getting a visual error in the document saying that my certificate has expired.

Is there a way to sign the documet such that it will be still valid for long term archiving after the signing certificate is expired?

  • Open XML SDK is based on System.IO.Packaging. If the document can be opened by System.IO.Packaging, then you can use Open XML SDK to open it, otherwise Open XML SDK has weak support.
