Updating closed timesheets RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way through code to recall and update an individuals closed timesheet? I know regularly only the resource can recall their timesheet but I would like a Timesheet Managers be able to do it without the resource involved.

  • Hi,

a Timesheet Manager can act as delegate for resources and recall timesheets on their behalf. See more at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg188119(v=office.14).aspx. (Same for 2010 and 2013, the latter only if running in Project Server Permission mode).

If you want to do per code, you will have to use impersonation.

The easiest way to do so, "just" needs correct permission settings. If you are using RBS and set up categories and groups accordingly, you can allow Timesheet Managers direct access to timesheets of their resource, by enabling "Adjust Timesheet" on category level. In this case, they will have access to "Timesheet Adjustment " in Server Settings. Are all yor timesheet managers members of group Resource Managers? Is RBS set up?

Note: Timesheet periods may not be set to closed, for changing timesheets.

    Regards
    Barbara
