    Hi frnd4u_dotnet,

Can you explain your problem in detail, I have some questions about your description,

    1. What do you want to synchronize, synchronize data between sql ce  and sql server?
    2. It is working fine in PDA? What's PDA? Mobile platform or other?
    3. Windows mobile is hanging? What's the mobile of your description?

If I want to synchronize data between sql server and sql ce, you can use RDA(Remote Data Access) or Merge replication

How to implement a RDA or Merge replication:

    Hi,

I wrote embedded VB application to synchronize data between sql ce 2.0 to sqlserver 2000 and vice versa.

When I connect this application to windows mobile 5.0(imate model), through the USB its working Fine.I am able to see the database filled with data.

Same application connected to GPRS in  windows mobile 5.0 (imate model),I am not able to see data in the mobile.

I implemented this using RDA to synchronize data between sql ce 2.0 to sqlserver 2000 and vice versa

Whether i have to do any thing other than this.

    Please help me regarding this.

    Hi frnd4u_dotnet,

Sorry for reply late,  I am afraid your device can't connect to PC server via GPRS, try to use tool, named task manager, which provide ping function:

Also check the RDA code, what's your RDA InternetUrl , could you connect the URL, Read the following article:

    Hi,

    Problem Description:

Unable to synchronize the data between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Sever CE2.0 using Embedded Visual Basic application via GPRS Windows Mobile 5.0 (VPN enabled).

Existing System: Synchronization via USB connection The embedded VB application in Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) can synchronize the data between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Sever CE2.0 via USB connection.

Proposed System: Synchronization via GPRS Mobile The embedded VB application must be synchronized between SQL Server 2000 and SQL CE2.0 via GPRS Windows Mobile 5.0 (VPN enabled).

    Issues:

In existing system, data synchronization is happening between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Sever CE2.0 via USB connection. The same application when connected through GPRS (VPN enabled), the error "A request to send data to the computer running IIS failed" is displayed. (The URL of SQL Server agent is not getting exposed to internet, So VPN software is installed in PDA.)

     1. The SQL Server Agent URL is available to access through the internet explorer from Windows Mobile 5.0 after logging to the VPN software in the mobile device.

     2. But the same URL is unable to access by embedded VB application via GPRS mobile. The error is "A request to send data to the computer running IIS failed".

     Please help me regarding this.

    Hi frnd4u_dotnet,

Please check whether you assign the InternetUrl property value which include localhost. Since it connect via GPRS, you should use computer name or IP as URL value..
