Pentium 4 SL79L Receives 0x0000005D on WIN8 RP Install RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to install the Release Preview of Windows 8 onto my home computer. It is a build made in 2010 that uses a Socket 478 Pentium 4 processor. I used YUMI to load the WIN8 RP iso onto a flash drive and used a GrubLoader to boot to the ISO. I received the following error code with these parameters:

    ERROR CODE: 0x0000005D

At first, I thought I was getting these errors because the system was overclocked, so I reset everything to stock speeds and I still got this error. I double-checked to be sure I had downloaded and copied the correct ISO and I have - x86. I checked on my laptop and the system would boot all the way to the OS installer from the flash drive's Grub loader. I loaded this system with the previous preview editions of Windows 8 and had no trouble, aside from the glitches associated with Beta OS's and software from vendors and developers.

    Here is the system build:

    Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.0 GHz SL79L
    Biostar P4-M900 M4A version 6.x Socket 478
    2GB Corsair Value Select DDR2 RAM @ 533MHz
    ASUS EAH3450 Radeon PCIe 2.0
    BlueStar Gold 680W PSU

Can anyone help me out here? This is ridiculous!
