Unable to authorize Work Items in App Insights

Question

Hi all,

I was just trying to link my app insights to my Azure DevOps today through the work items blade, typed in the url and project name, then went to the authorize the linking between the two. A pop up opened as expected and since I was already logged in, all I had to do was click "Authorize", the pop up closed and I got an error message in the Azure Portal: "Authorization token provided through OAuth does not have access to read/write work items for requested uri/project collection/project" 

Now, my user is an admin of the whole organization afik, and I can both write and read work items at will as well as setup new users and grant them those permissions.

I am unsure how to further investigate this, any help will be appreciated
