.browser file (how to exlude browsers) RRS feed

    Hi,

the sample .browser file allows all browsers to use the adapters. I also know how to allow certain browsers in a .browser file BUT how would I modify the .browser file in order to achieve that e.g. no LINUX or WEB TV browsers use the adapters.

What I mean is that I do not want to allow browsers by specifying one after the other... - I want to allow all but reject certain browsers or platforms and need to know how to implement these exceptions in a browser file.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks and regards

    Frank

Hi Frank, you might try writing your own regular expression to allow all user agents except the ones you don't want.  For detail, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228122.aspx.

    Thanks Russ,

I will experiment with the browser file and regex. By the way, the css friendly adapters are awesome and really appreciated - good work.

My best advice is to code to a standard -- specifically xhtml 1.0 Strict to ensure the most reliable cross-browser compatibility.
