Access point problem with Windows 10 IoT Core and RPi 2 and RPi3

  • Hi, I have been trying to make my raspberry pi 3 access point so the other devices can connect with it but had no luck. I have connected my RPi 3 with Ethernet port and I want to use its built in WiFi adapter to share the network with other devices. I have tried with different ways like Windows IoT boarding feature (refer to snapshot) and using PowerShell also. I read many threads trying to do same thing but nothing worked for me. Here are some guides I found.

  • hello

what i miss in your posting is a detailed technical description what does not work

basically -> Windows -> IoT/Docs -> Connecting to your device Internet connection sharing is the right starting place

  • Thanks for your reply. I read this page already (and followed instructions) but I just want to make my RPi 3 an Access Point and in Windows 10 IoT device portal there is IoT Onboarding tab in which there is Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). My question is that can I use ICS from IoT Onboarding to make AP? Alternatively, I also have tried some commands using PowerShell as in the following.

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=<network name> key=<password> mode=allow

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

    but it gives me error:

The hosted network couldn't be started.
The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

    Thank you

"ICS allows you to share the Internet access of your device with other devices connected to your device over the Wifi SoftAP"
