I receive the error message above when trying to install the Mobile Express for MS Dynamics CRM 4 package on our CRM server.
MSCRM version is 4.0.7333.1644 (German)
OS is Windows Server 2008 Standard 64bit englishTried to run the installation from the desktop as well as from the MSCRM directory (which is D:\Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4\) with no success. MSCRM is up and running and can be accesse via web as well as via Outlook CRM client.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

It seems as it is not available for any other language as english. I tried to install it on a german server and it fails with the same message.
The description says 'The current release of Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is available in English only' and also that it will install Rollup 5.
If you try to install Rollup 5 ENU (English) on a german server (which seems is the first step of the setup) it will fail with a messagebox 'Microsoft Dynamics CRM server was not found on the server'
If you install the german rollup 5 yourself it tries to update your installation and failes again with the same message- Als Antwort vorgeschlagen ckeller Mittwoch, 26. August 2009 14:01

Hi,
ckeller is right. The mobile express client only works on a english CRM implementation.

Hi,
after you have installed crm, you can't change the base language, you have to uninstall crm and then reinstall it with the english base language.
At the moment i don't know anything about a localization version of the mobile express client but i will try to get more information from microsoft,

Hi Martin,
i think, you have a dns-resolution problem. Check the DNS-resolution for the crm server with this tool:

For your information
"Update Rollup 6 and all future Update Rollups will contain Mobile ExpressThe CRM team released the English version of Mobile Express on July 8, 2009 as an update to the CRM Server. Since Mobile Express is now part of the Server product it will be installed and updated as part of all Update Rollups going forward. There is a Getting Started: CRM Mobile Express blog that has some pointers on how to get started. The localized versions of Mobile Express will be delivered in a future update rollup."
