Bitte beachten bei Installationen in eine VM:

hier kommt es ggf. zu dem Fehler: HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED.

Auf VMWare und VirtualPC gibt es da genau diese Probleme:

Möglichkeiten (Lösungen) für eine erfolgreiche Win8-Preview-Installation in eine VM sind folgende (b.a.w):

1. Direkte native Installation auf eine externe Platte.

man muss abwägen, man kann die "Microsoft Visual Studio 11 Preview" auch separat schon mit 'quasi Komplett-Funktionalität' als Subscriber downloaden (bzw. in 2 Tagen auch generell downloadbar, neben .NET Framework 4.5, TFS, ASP MVC4, oder auch TFS Service, oder Windows 8 Server). S.a.: [BUILD keynote day 2–Windows Server 8 and developer tools « Burela's house-o-blog].
Oder auch für uns C# Entwickler ja die neuen C# Sprach-Features wie async und await.
