How can I enter unicode characters in VS or transform to

Of interest are sub / superscripts and greek characters. VS supports UNICODE and displays the it correctly only the direct input method is missing, unless one uses copy and paste from other application.

For example writing a1 the "1" should be subscript, the same for letters an so on.

Advanced editing -> to sub / superscript would suffice as the fallback

isn't it a matter of the Windows keyboard settings? When you use a Greek keyboard, then you can type in Greek characters. https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Enabling_Greek_Characters_on_Your_Keyboard

Use a UNICODE project and check that your strings are in _T("...") or L"...".

Well, how can I enter something like (HTML notation) a_b . Word Ctrl+#, Ctrl++, ... don't seem to work in VS.

Eigentlich kann man diese Zeichen einfach eintippen, mit der üblichen Methode um Unicode Zeichen einzutippen.

Bei mir ist das z. B. Alt + "+2081" für ₁ - 1 tiefstehend
