Grosse Probleme Visual Studio 2008 Windows 7 64 bit Installation RRS feed

    Hallo Zusammen
    ich bin am verzweifeln. Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich Probleme mit meiner SQL 2008 Express installation und wollte das VisualStudio 2008 reparieren.
    Nach einigen erfolglosen Versuchen habe ich das Visual Studio deinstallieren wollen. Nun gingen die Probleme los. Das Setup meldet ständig zugriffsfehler (1303) beim schreiben auf c:\config.msi\ dateien. Ich bin als lokaler Administrator angemeldet, der SYSTEM account hat volle berechtigung auf config.msi.

    Nach einigen Versuchen und manueller deinstallation und registry bereinigung gelang es endlich, das VS2008 komplett zu installieren und auch die windows update patches zu applizieren. Nur leider wurden einige Komponenten falsch registriert (Bsp: Remote debugger, Entity Code Generator...). In diversen Artikeln heisst es, man soll die Installation Reparieren. Das schlägt dann allerdings wieder fehl. Ich weiss nicht mehr weiter.

    Kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich die Visual Studio Installation auf Windows 7 64 bit vollständig entfernen und korrekt neu installieren kann?

    welchen Fehler bekommst Du bei der Reparatur?

    Wenn Du Pech hast kann es sehr sehr umständlich werden, Dein System wieder in einen "sauberen" Zustand zu bekommen. Schau nach dem Setup mal unter %temp%, da sollten verschiedene Setup-Logdateien von Visual Studio liegen. Die sind aber sehr lang, und da die Stelle mit dem Fehler zu finden ist nicht ganz einfach.

    Ich bin sehr irritiert über die vielen Zugriffsfehler auf den config.msi Ordner, da ich als lokaler Administrator angemeldet bin und das Setup als Adminstrator ausführen lasse. Ich habe auch den Verdacht, dass grundsätzlich alle 64-bit Komponenten bei der Installation Fehler produzieren.
    Das Visual Studio 2008 ist eine Professional Version von MSDN. Wenn ich ds SP1 installieren will, reklamiert er dass ich zuerst das

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack Preparation Tool Laufen lassen muss. Dieses hängt sich aber auf beim Upgrade des Visual Studio Remote Debuggers.

    Ich habe auch versucht, Visual Studio 2008 setup.exe mit Kompaitbilitäts modus "Windows Vista SP1" zu starten, dies hat leider nicht mehr gebracht. Langsam erstaunt es mich, dass das Visual Studio überhaupt jemals gelaufen ist...

    Hast Du mal probiert für alle Benutzer volle Rechte auf Config.msi zu vergeben? Keine Ahnung ob das klappt, nur so eine spontane Idee.

    Der oberste Fehler stammt von SQL Server Express. Lässt der sich einzeln installieren / deinstallieren?

    Zudem solltest Du einen Virenscanner während der Installation abschalten.

    danke für die Hinweise.

    msiexec /unreg und /regserver habe ich ausprobiert. Virenscanner habe ich deaktiviert. Windows Firewall habe ich deaktiviert.
    Was ich noch nicht versucht habe ist alle visual studio plugins zu entfernen. werde das am wochenende probieren.

    Im moment habe ich ds VS2008 fast komplett. Das ADO.NET Entity Model template fehlt und 64-Bit kann ich nicht kompilieren.

    ich habe das Problem betreffend Config.Msi zugriff gefunden. IDrive hat gestört und nachdem ich dieses deinstalliert habe hat auch die VS 2008 Installation gut geklappt. Was immer noch nicht funktioniert ist der SP1 Update. Das Service Pack Preparation Tool hängt sich immer noch beim Update des Remote Debuggers auf.
    Das werde ich am Wochenende angehen. Muss wohl oder übel trotzdem nochmals das VS komplett deinstallieren. Die MSDN Version Visual Studio 2008 Professional EN sollte doch eigentlich keine Pre-Release sein, oder?

    Wenn Du eine MSDN Subscription hast, solltest Du da das RTM (nicht Pre-Release) drin finden,
    meine VS 2008 TS Installation (auch englisch) stammt daher.

    Ich bin wieder einen Schritt weiter. Das SP1 liess sich nun fast feherfrei installieren.
    Nun habe ich noch ein Problem mit dem Entity Framework Model Template und EntityModelCodeGenerator. Im Visual Studio 2010 RC habe ich das Template und das custom tool, aber im Visual Studio 2008 nicht.

    Alle Beiträge zu den Fehlenden Template sagen, dass man das Framework 3.5 SP1 installieren soll. komischerweise hat mein VS2008 im "About" Fenster bereits Framework 3.5 SP1 ausgewiesen, obschon ich das SP1 noch nicht installiert hatte. Im Windows 7 ist ja das 3.5 Framework unter "Windows Features" integriert.
    Habe noch nicht probiert, das Framework dort zu entfernen und neu zu installieren.

    Hallo Yannik,

    Vom .NET 3.5 SP1 lasse die Finger, das wird (endlich!!!) von Haus
    aus mit Windows 7 geliefert, inkl. notwendiger Paches.

    Was das Entity Framework angeht, fang am besten gleich bei
    4. => VS 2010 / NET 4.0 an, wenn Du nicht bereits was am laufen hast.
    Denn V1.0 ist IMHO nicht so ganz gelungen.

    Du bist mit dem Problem aber wohl nicht alleine
