Bizspark and azure abonnement

    Frage

  • i have a normal azure abonnement with normal payment.

Now i am a new bizspark member and received an addional abonnement with free services.

Is it possible and how can i first use the free services?

I can't set a special service (e.g. a virtual server) to a specific abonnement in mangament portal?

Edit: i deleted the old abonnement and now nothing is available any more :-/ i am not able to set a abonnement to a service?!

  • Hi,

somewhere in the BizSpark provisioning process you should have set a Microsoft Account (aka Windows Live ID). If you log on to the Windows Azure Management Portal (http://manage.windowsazure.com/) using your Microsoft Account you should have access to all subscriptions associated to that account (in your case the free subscription and your BizSpark subscription). You don't directly see your subscriptions (if you haven't created anything yet), but whenever you create something (Cloud Service, Virtual Machine, Storage Account, ...) you will be asked to what subscription the corresponding Services shall be associated.

    Example: Creating a Storage Account

Step 1: Log on to the Management Portal (http://manage.windowsazure.com/)

Step 2: Select Storage from the main menu on the left side.

Step 3: Select New from the sub menu at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Select Quick Create from the popup menu.

Step 5: Enter the URL-prefix for your storage Services, the Region, and the subscription (<- this could be your BizSpark subscription); see the following image:

You can select the subscription for all your Azure Services.

    Example: Creating a Virtual Machine

Once you've created a service you cannot change the subscription.
