Limits in Attributes in an entity

Frage
-
is there a limit to the number of boolean (bit or picklist) type attributes that can be created against an entity?
I believe there are limits to the number of attributes, but I am coming across a limit to a number of bit or picklist type attributes.
It is a for a temporary set of classifications/categorisations that can be used against an entity until we put in place an agreed dynamic list based on dependent picklists.
anyone aware of limits? I have got to 212 bit types and cannot add another bit type or picklist type of attribute now.

Hi,
I don't know of a known limitation on these attribute types.
Did you enable the tracing (See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907490). There should be more information on your issue.
If the trace log contains no useful information, maybe it is worth to open a service call with microsoft, as the number of attributes is very high, compared with the daily business. Perhaps there could be an issue.- Als Antwort markiert JuergenBeckModerator Dienstag, 5. Januar 2010 17:03

Hi,
there is no special limit for bit attributes but there are some limits because of the backing sql database.
The overall maximum number of attributes is 1024 (http://eastoceantechnical.blogspot.com/2009/06/maximum-attributes-supported-by-crm-4.html). According to your problem, this links may help, although they don't provide a solution but show a possible source of your problem

hi there, thanks for the response. We used the space calculator to determine space left and it tells us we have 6876 bytes left (against a max of 8060). So space does not seem to be the issue. This is backed up by the fact that we can add other types of attributes, like vchars for example. But we cannot add any more Bit/Boolean types.
Is there any known limitation to no of bit/boolean type attributes on an entity? -
