Does the discrete wavelet transform can be used to do dimensionality reduction? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello guys, I've been reading about the discrete waveet transform and its abilities to compress data. Thinking about images and the dimensionality reduction necessary to eliminate redundancies, is the wavelet transform a form of dimensionality reduction?

  • Hello Amanita,

Thanks for your question. Based on the description of the question it looks like you are looking for a clarification about Discrete wavelet transform and it's capabilities. As per the current documentation of Azure Machine Learning services we did not find a direct reference to this topic linking to a module that can help you with this in Azure Machine Learning service. We will check with our product group for any info regarding the same.
