Copy list item in existing folder from one list to another list RRS feed

  • Hello ,

     After creating a new item ,I would like to copy that new item from one list to another list of existing folder using sharepoint workflow 2010

    How can I do it?

    You can create 'Copy item' action when the workflow is triggered by item creation.

  • Hi Hnin,

    You cannot copy an item to an existing folder in another list using “Copy Item” action, as it only allows you to select a list or a library as the destination.

    As a workaround, you can create an item as the copy in the destination folder. Please do as following:

    1. Create a SharePoint 2010 Workflow in the source list and then add the "Create List Item" action.

    2. For the new item, set all field values to the ones of the current item.

    3. Set the field "Folder" to the name of the destination folder.

    4. Set the workflow to run on new created items. Save and publish.
