Azure Stack for application HA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have 2 racks of 12 nodes each and planning to implement HA across 2 different rack.  eg.  SQL always-on (workload)

To my understand, no issues for 1x SQL always-on within 1st rack.  How about another passive node in 2nd rack?  With assumption rack 1 network able to communicate with rack 2 network.

    Please advice.  Thanks.

  • I am not aware of any restrictions between racks. Please review the doc about SQL Server Always on In Azure Stack for more info

  • I'm not looking something within the stack;  HA is within the stack, be it 4,8,12 or 16 nodes.  I am looking for across stack.  I think technically should be workable using tradition way eg. Create new VM, copy SQL installer source & install...

  • If you are going to be across stack, you will have to join the VMs via a S2S VPN. As long as everything can communicate, I do not think you will have too much of an issue.
