On-premise Data Gateway RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I read the information about the Microsoft Data Gateway. This was precisely the feature we looking for to solve the problem for accessing on-premise databases from the Cloud. Unfortunately it seems that the Gateway Cloud Service is only accessible from some predefined products as LogicApps, PowerApps etc. We need this feature from a third party application running in Azure but not using LogicApps nor PowerApps. Is that possible or not? Why would Microsoft hardcode this feature into its Apps products?

    Best Regards

  • Hello Jan, thank you for reaching out. Seeing as you posted this in the App Services sub forum, I assume you are using Azure App Services. If so, you can use Hybrid Connections to connect your Azure App Services to your on-prem databases.

For more information on Hybrid Connections, please review this doc here and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Thanks for your comment Bryan,

Unfortunately this is an third party application using ODBC that is required to be hosted in Azure. The application needs access to our on-premise database and at first, it seemed perfect to use Microsoft Data Gateway and Cloud Services.
