Why Azure is using first three ip address from each subnet for its internal use RRS feed

  • Hi,

    Azure is using first three IP Address of each subnet for its internal use. I would like to know for which purpose they are using these IPs. If anyone aware of it please let me know.

  • Hi Bhaskar,

    In a Subnet the IP address xxx.xx.xx.0 is the Subnetwork Address and cannot be used as a node address.
    Of the other 3 IP addresses 1 to 3, 1 is used for DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and the other 2 are used for DNS (Domain Name System).
