Azure Machine Learning pipelines storing secrets at rest RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, are the Azure Machine Learning Pipelines, specifically the information passed to the PythonScriptSteps encrypted at rest?

We are setting up a Pipeline to get test data on a schedule, and generate inference using a registered model.
Right after getting a prediction, we want to turn around and store the result in our database. We are thinking to pass the credentials of the database to the PythonScriptStep via the scripts arguments, and wanted to check on whether the Pipeline and the PythonScriptStep is serialized in an encrypted/secure way.

  • Hi,

We recently introduced the hbi_workspace flag for workspaces with sensitive data that enables further encryption and disables advanced diagnostics on workspaces. Setting "hbi_workspace  = True" while creating a workspace ensures downstream services will selectively disable logging. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for your answer, it does help, but i just wanted to confirm specifically whether the PythonScriptStep in the Pipelines are encrypted when serialized. Is it possible to confirm that?
