one-time bypass feature MFA on cloud RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are using Azure MFA on cloud and integrated our web application with SDK only (No on premise server) for MFA. All our application users stored in our database. When we turned on one time bypass for one of our application admin user on an existing Authentication provider without AD in Azure MFA on cloud. The user still getting Azure call and authentication is not bypassed for one time. Please let me know if I miss any other configuration or shed some light on how one time bypass works.

  • Hi Ravi,

please take a look at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/multi-factor-authentication/multi-factor-authentication-get-started

Please check the table specified by header:
    What features do I need?

Feature MFA in the cloud MFA Server
Mobile app notification as a second factor
Mobile app verification code as a second factor
    Phone call as second factor
    One-way SMS as second factor
    Two-way SMS as second factor
    Hardware Tokens as second factor
App passwords for Office 365 clients that don’t support MFA
    Admin control over authentication methods
    PIN mode
    Fraud alert
    MFA Reports
    One-Time Bypass
    Custom greetings for phone calls
Customizable caller ID for phone calls
    Trusted IPs
    Remember MFA for trusted devices
    Conditional access
    Cache

There you will see that One-time bypass isn't an cloud option at this time.
