Avast Firewall Problem - Blue Screen - This is Not a Question RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Early this week, following a Windows 10 Update, my icons on desktop stopped working.  Keying one caused the BS of D to appear.  Toolbar icons worked but there was no escape from the blue screen.  After playing with it for a couple of days, I noticed on the task manager that my aftermarket firewall, Avast, was using 90% to 100% of the CPU time, more or less, continously.  This AM, I uninstalled Avast.  End of problem.  Please keep this in mind and if you're running fine, create a Restore Point. - BK
