My .net core API returns 503 error Server unavailable intermittent for around 20 minutes. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a web api written in .Net Core and running in a app service. Right now I;m getting periodically error 503 Server Unavailable. Some times the restart of the server fixes the issue others it doesn't.

It runs in windows with CD reading source from Azure Repos and deploying using Kudu option.

I checked the logs and I don't see any clue of the .net core api crashing.

The server has come back to function by it self also.

Any ideas of what could be happening?

    Thanks

  • Hi Rod,

When did you start seeing this issue? What are your current CPU and memory usage?

This problem is often caused by application level issues, such as:

    -requests taking a long time
    -application using high memory/CPU
-application crashing due to an exception.

You can try these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have further question.

    Thanks,
    Grace

  • I already checked  the logs and nothing useful there, We also scaled from D1 plan to a B1 plan since this is a qa environment and still after a while we get 503 error and not even restarting the service is available again.

    What else could I check?

    Thanks
