Automating Code Reviews RRS feed

  • Question

  • So i know you can use shelvesets to help the process and enter a reviewer's name during check-in, but can this be automated a bit more.

Can a changeset be "parked" somehow between check-in and being committed to the repository (on a shelf somewhere)until approved by a code reviewer as "ok to commit", whereupon the reviewer details and notes are automatically appended. If the reviewer is unhappy the code is never actually comitted to the repository (and the developer picks it back off the shelf and addesses the issues).

I know this is hard to do but short cuts in the review process seem to cause the majority of our issues and automation would make the shortcuts harder to take.
