Encrypting is not default RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to understand what does Encryption at rest actually mean?

    1) Encryption is option and not default

    2) Where data in rest is stored? Is it possible to see from Azure portal?

    3) What is advantage of doing followings?  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/service-bus-messaging/configure-customer-managed-key

  • Hi Kenny - Thank you for your questions. Regarding #1 and #2, Encryption at-Rest refers to common practice of providing additional security for your data when it's not being consumed (at rest). For more information, please review the following documentation: Azure Data Encryption-at-Rest: The purpose of encryption at rest

Regarding #3, the documentation discusses different options available to you for configuring and managing the keys used for encryption at-rest for your Service Bus. if you have any specific scenario that you'd like discuss around this feature, feel free to let us know here and we'd be happy to help.
