Video and Audio RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does the current API allow for video and audio (or audio alone) communication between the web client api and the Windows Live Messenger Client?

In other words, can a user chatting from a website through the API be able to have a conference call (audio/video) with another user who is using the normal Windows Live Messenger client.

    Thanks in advance...

  • Hi Jonas,

Currently audio and video are not supported by the web API. Is there a particular scenario that you need it for?

  • Siebe,

Yes, I would like to have the ability to have a video/audio call with a client.

I would like to be able to have the video/audio call started automatically after a link is pressed or have the ability to initiate it after a chat window has been opened.

  • Hi Shyam,

Sorry, but no. This is not something we've added to the toolkit.
