How to change outbound IP to static IP for App Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • we found out that the App Service is sending out traffic with different outbound IPs, we need to change it to static IP but don't found a way to make that change in App Service -> Properties. Would anyone know how to change it to static IP for outbound?

    Thanks

    Chris

  • I would recommend using the Azure API management service. You can define advanced outbound response policies including changing the response IP.

  • What Steve shared will work if you are indeed using the API app functionality of App Services.

Each app only receives 4-5 outbound IPs. The outbound IPs can mostly be considered static as there are only a few times where they might change. To locate your set of outbound IP addresses, please see here.

If you really need a static IP address and wish to stay on app services, you can look into App Service Environment (ASE). This is a premium tier offering that provides you with dedicated servers, storage, and networking appliances, and thus the ability to set static and dedicated IPs is possible. There is an increased cost with going this route.
