Bradley,
Thanks for the inquiry... I'll attempt to explain some more...
In the Wordpress world, there's a plug-in that'll suggest 'similar posts' based on the one your reading for those who visit a site; I'm searching/asking for a plug-in that'll help me find related articles to the one I'm writing; from my blog. To support the
article I'm posting...
With the current Windows Live Writer it's not possible to easily search through previous posts, from your blog, to find post that may support the post your writing.
The plug-in would have to be able to detect keywords in the post being actively composed, and then attempt to match those keywords to posts that already exist previously [like a Wordpress blog]- hopefully finding 'similar' posts... With
similar topics.
I think the key points of the plug-in would be:
- Be able to actively poll the contents of the post being composed, or have a button to click to start the process of finding keywords [Find Supporting Posts ].
- Access to an Internet service [API ] to determine which keywords are most prevalent - like the top 10 words.
- Be able to run a query on the blog [like Wordpress] database to find matching posts based on those 10 popular words.
- And lastly returning a list of the top 10 posts [or adjustable number] with URL links to select posts to support yours.
I'm not a coder; I'm making the request here for someone to possibly attempt to write. I don't have any ideas at the moment on how to write something like this, and sadly by the time I figured it out, it may be a very long time.
I think the idea, is a good idea; I think it'd be helpful for those who blog and want to reference previous posts to support their new stuff. I think it'd be fairly simple for someone who’s versed with Windows Live Writer plug-ins/coding.
I hope this offers a little more insight... I appreciate it...
Until next time,
LEHenryJr
