Reporting of incorrect translations RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using Microsoft Translator API to translate Japanese into Chinese.
I found some incorrect translations. How do I report incorrect translations ?

I know Bing Translator has report buttons(Good or Bad).
However, I want to suggest correct translations instead of the evaluation.
I have no choice but to post a forum individually ?

    Thank you

  • Hello Kenta,

the API has a built-in correction mechanism: use the AddTranslation() method to add a sentence pair. Some of the commercial TM tools like MemSource allow the edit using the tool's UI.

You will immediately get the benefit of teh correction in subsequent translations of the same sentence, and you can easily use the correction with the Translator Hub, building a custom translation system that knows your terminology and style for future translations: https://hub.microsofttranslator.com.

  • I am responding based on simple translation I made in Japanese to English, where it translated "wife" as "madam".

The difference in usage is subtle but can be offensive, since you can address a lady by the term"madam" but a "Madam" runs a brothel.

Being able to give thumbs down to the translator seems insufficient because it then has to pick another option rather than a being given a correct one. But I suppose it save the problem of people giving it incorrect ones too.
