Can we directly create a file & write stream within the created file using azure blob? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

I am working on a use case in which i need to generate and store pdf with in azure blob storage.

Currently for pdf generation & uploadation, we are generating pdf with in our server & then uploading it to azure blob. Also we have a scheduler within our server which is scheduled at 12:00 for deleting the generated pdf.

Now, we are looking at a solutions in which we need to eliminate the process of generating and deleting pdf with in our server. Also instead of creating a pdf with in our server & uploading it to azure blob, we are looking at a process of directly creating pdf with in azure blob.

Can Azure Blob Storage handle a process in which we can directly create a file(pdf), write stream within created file and share the file for downloading?

    Regards,

  • @hansa123, Generating the PDF within Azure blob is possible via stream, there's a good external blog post with details of using the Memory stream: https://dontpaniclabs.com/blog/post/2019/04/18/memorystream-limits-handling-large-files-in-azure-with-blob-storage-streaming/

internal documentation can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/?term=CloudBlockBlob.OpenWrite

    Thanks,
