  • Hi,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Most of the Server System Variables can be changed dynamically at runtime using the SET statement, which enables you to modify operation of the server without having to stop and restart it. You can also use system variable values in expressions.

    List of Dynamic System Variables

Refer Server System Variables for more information. Hope this helps.

  • Hello i'am referring to the Azure PaaS mysql server parameter's page .

for example: on prem if i change the parameter "wait timeout" i need to restart the instance after editing the my.cnf

the question i want to be answered is: if i modify the paramenter from the portal page the instance is being restarted when i push the save button?

  • If the server parameter is "static", the server needs to be restarted in order for this to take affect. You can use the "restart" button on the server's overview blade to do this:

If the server parameter is "dynamic", the changes will be updated on the server without requiring a server restart, but you may still need to disconnect from your current session to see these changes.
