3 Steps to Retrieve Images from Olympus Camera RRS feed

  • Question

  • As is well known, Olympus cameras are spread all over the world. Just a few days ago, Olympus released X-560WP, which has good water-proof ability, high ISO and shutter speed. It decreases the possibilities of image fog and provides as many as 18 shooting scenes, including figures, nightscape, landscape, movement, etc.

But on one hand, we enjoy the new experience Olympus cameras bring to us; on the other hand, we worry about the image loss which may occur. Image loss is a common problem we might meet when we are taking photos. Sometimes it is because of our carelessness, such as accidentally deleting or formatting, while sometimes it is because of unpredictable factors, like power off, virus infection, or the sudden failure of card. But how can we retrieve images from Olympus camera?

Generally speaking, you can retrieve images from Olympus camera by some photo recovery software. Before the lost images are retrieved from Olympus camera, you should remember: Do put the Olympus camera in safe place, do not take more images, and do not put more files or other data in the same place where the lost images were stored. Because after the images were lost, the data itself isn't lost; just the area where the lost images were stored is now marked as free space for other new files to be written. So once you put other data in it, this free space will be overwritten, which makes it difficult to retrieve lost images from Olympus camera.

How to retrieve images from Olympus camera?

Free download, install and start Wondershare Photo Recovery on your computer. Only need 3 steps to retrieve images from Olympus camera:

    Retrieve images step 1:

Connect your Olympus camera to the computer. If your lost images are stored on the memory card, get a card reader and connect it to your computer is OK. Once the device can be detected, it will appear as a drive letter like (H :) under your computer.

    Retrieve images step 2:

Select Olympus camera or the memory card (where your lost images were stored) as a target disk, and select the file types (all, photo, music, video) and then click "Start Scan" to start the automatic scanning process. After a while you will find a lot recoverable items, preview the found images to check if your lost ones are there.

    Retrieve images step 3:

If your lost Olympus images are confirmed to be found, buy the software to get an activation code. And then save the recovered images in another place, not the one where the lost images were. For example, if you want to retrieve images from partition H:, you should specify a folder to save the images in partition E: or other partition, not partition H:.

Follow the above 3 steps one by one, you will find retrieving images from Olympus camera is not as difficult as you thought. Besides images loss from Olympus cameras, this photo recovery program can also achieve:

Restore deleted images from Kodak camera
Recover deleted photos from Samsung camera
Get back lost photos from Sony digital camera
    Recover images from Nikon camera

Note: Wondershare Photo Recovery is only available under Windows platforms. If you are using Mac OS X, refer to Wondershare Photo Recovery for Mac. But no matter what, the best way to retrieve images from Olympus camera is to avoid image loss. So regular image backup is indispensible.
