CDN managed certificate for root/apex domain? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Given that azure CDN managed certs are not supported for root/apex domains, is redirecting from root/apex to www sub-domain my only option?

This is for a static website (azure blob storage) origin with azure standard CDN as endpoint.

  • That is correct, you will have to use a custom domain on your Azure CDN Endpoint. You can refer to the doc Here about enabling HTTPS on your CDN when accessing Azure Storage

  • Thanks. I already have a "www.xyz.com" custom domain on my azure CDN endpoint (with managed TLS cert).

I simply need to redirect all naked/apex/root domain requests (xyz.com) to this custom domain (www.xyz.com).

Can this be done via Azure CDN endpoint rules?

Or do I need Azure DNS support (A record, CNAME record etc) for this?

Could you please point to any examples or documentation for this?
