Update prediction score in Azure SQL Server table

    Question

  • Hello friends,

I've trained a model (two-class boosted trees) that scores some data.

Now I want to deploy it but I don't want any APIs, I just want it to update a SQL server table (in Azure) with probabilities that my model has scored

How do I do this? Links to samples would be much appreciated!

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi,

Could you try and write your output to Azure SQL using the 'Export Data' module?

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/machine-learning/studio-module-reference/export-data

Some examples are listed on this documentation page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/machine-learning/studio-module-reference/export-to-azure-sql-database

  • Excellent! Thank you...

I have already succeeded to insert rows to a table with "Export Data" with "Azure SQL Database" destination option.

I am still struggling with UPSERT... How do I UPDATE my table?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Good to hear you are able to insert rows into your table. I am not sure of how to update in Azure SQL Database, perhaps someone else in the forum can assist you on this.

I do see some insert/update options for Azure Table: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/machine-learning/studio-module-reference/export-to-azure-table

  • Yes, I've seen this too and even tried to play with this option.

The problem is that it asks for all kinds of parameters I have no idea what they are...:

    -Table account name

    -Table account key

I have no idea what it is...

    Anyone can help please?

  • I see now that Azure Table is something different.

I guess that no way to update with transformation.

I'll try workaround inside SQL, but "Export Data" is also useful for me now!

Jaya, thanks a lot for help!

  • Hi Michael,

Hopefully someone in the forum might be able to help with the Azure SQL Database update query.

In the interim, it is good you were able to find a workaround.
