  • Hi,

It is not yet supported to set custom hostnames and hostNameSslStates settings during creation of the site. Those can only be set on an existing site. Because of that an ARM template that tries to create a site and set its custom hostnames/ssl binding at the same time will not work. There are plans to enable it in near future.

  • Hi,

Here is the detail information about Azure Resource Manager Template Language:

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi RuslanY,

Thanks for your reply. Does this mean, that I can achieve what I want if I run two templates? First a template that provisions the web app, and then a template that configures hostnames AND ssl bindings?

I am currently able to configure hostnames in a second template which I run after the first template.

But I am still not able to set ssl bindings in the second template:-(

If configuring SSL bindings is not achievable with ARM, please provide info as to how to do that, until its supported in ARM.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Ruslan,

I was wondering if there are any updates to the ability to configure hostNames and hostNameSslStates during initial site creation. If this is still an open item, is there somewhere where I can view the status of the issue and/or upvote its priority?  Thanks!

Near future? It's been over a year and still no support.
