Increase of CPU use in all my Azure Postgresql servers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two Azure databases for Postgresql, this morning I have noticed a little increase of CPU use in all my Azure Postgresql servers, it started at 23 october over 6:40 UTC.

I'm sure there aren't process accessing to the databases.

Have you any idea what could be happening?

    Thanks

  • How little/big is the increase in CPU?

Have you tried enabling monitor and tune, checking query logs, or querying performance insight to troubleshoot the issue?

    Thanks.

  • I have a similar issue
I wouldn't call it "little increase in CPU" but a major one

Have a production PostgreSQL database which was averaging 1-2% CPU during night (5 PM UTC to 5 AM UTC on the next day) and 10% CPU during day (5AM UTC to 5PM UTC)

Since around 11 PM UTC October 22 my nightly CPU is 20% (from 1-2%) and daily CPU is 230% (from 10% previously)

Is CPU over 100% even possible?

Also "Azure" mobile app does not show metrics for my database - "Metrics data is not available". I have to use the metric in the web portal. Other resource metrics are fine in "Azure" mobile app.

  • I think we have the same issue. My PostgreSQL database increased a 20 % at once, around on same date that yours.

  • Hi James

CPU use increased from 1% to 20%. Now keeps in 20 % avg.
