Live Streaming - Need to restart channel if OBS disconnects RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have had an issue where if I restart Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) during a live stream to Azure it appears to be streaming fine from OBS but the video feed never reappears on the actual stream (it just shows the blue Azure logo).

The only way I managed to fix this was by restarting the Live Channel in Azure which is time consuming.

What can I do to fix this?

  • Hello SamVincent,

We enabled a feature on our channels recently that allows streams to continue if the encoder crashes/restarts during the stream. If you're still experiencing this problem can you reach out to us with more details at dwgeo at Microsoft dot com?

    Thanks,

    Dwyane

  • OBS owns no servers for twitch nor is OBS affiliated with twitch other than OBS provides software for broadcasting to different streaming services.
please contact twitch with issues that are unresolvable.

Often the problem can be caused by periodic interruptions due to poor signal quality in the lines from your modem to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This is the cause of the problem much of the time someone is experiencing lag or disconnects.

I hope this information on OBS Streaming is helpful!
